Rediscovering Domesticity: Help in Rough Times

Help in Rough Times

So, we have had a rough go of things since coming home from the hospital.  My last day there, Buggy came down with an intestinal virus (I am SURE it had NOTHING to do with the fact that he ate off the hospital floor).  Hubby and my dad cared for him until I got home.  The next day, Mom and Dad switched so Dad could finish the week at work.  Hubby caught the virus so Mom and I cared for Buggy and Baby and Hubby.  Baby ended up with the virus as well.  Shortly after that, right as Hubby was feeling better, Mom and I succumbed.

Here we are, just a few days later, finally on the mend.  We have occasional "relapses," but are feeling human.

It could have been much worse.

I am immensely grateful that God didn't just let us flounder on our own.  He enabled us to take turns so we could do what was needed plus get rest to recover.  He is good.

Psalm 121:1-8 (New Living Translation)
1 I look up to the mountains--
does my help come from there?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
      who made heaven and earth!
3 He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel
      never slumbers or sleeps.

5 The LORD himself watches over you!
The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.
6 The sun will not harm you by day,
      nor the moon at night.

7 The LORD keeps you from all harm
      and watches over your life.
8 The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go,
      both now and forever.
