Saturday Throwback: Cabbage Patch Kids Mother's Day

Welcome to Saturday Throwback!  Feel free to link up an old picture and story - just keep it clean!

The picture today isn't exactly from Mother's Day - it's just a favorite.  I do want to share a Mother's Day story with you.

Those who know me may realize that I have a little bit of a stubborn streak - just a LITTLE.  Um, yeah - a little more than a little!  Hubby and I joke that God must get a good chuckle when watching 2 incredibly stubborn people try to make it as husband and wife!

Well, growing up, Cabbage Patch Kids were HUGE!  Mom has stories of waiting in line and fighting other moms for the first batch of Cabbage Patch Kids in time for Christmas.  She scored a great one for me!  Her name was Elizabeth Ann.  I actually still have her!

Let's skip ahead from that fantastic gift to Mother's Day.  When Dad asked what Mom wanted to do, I proceeded to throw a fit.  All.  Day. Long.  You see, I was a mother as well.  Elizabeth Ann was my daughter.  Because I was a mother TOO, I was mad that I didn't have a say in the festivities for the day.  I proceeded to make t he day miserable for everyone.  All. Day. Long.

Thankfully, we grow up.  We live.  We learn.

I am so thankful for my mother and for how she has given SO MUCH over the years.  I only realized a glimmer of how much before becoming a mom myself.  I see more clearly now, but will never know exactly how much she did for us over the years.

Love you Mom!

Cute pic! I had 3.. My very 1st one i got when I was born. His name was Joe Bob and went everwhere with me. One day I lost him in the store. When we were leaving the mall I realized I left him, but the mall was closing. We went back the next day and the man behind the counter ruined my life (so I thought) he said a little girl left with him about 30 min ago. Someone find that girl and arrest her! My baby is gone! I was sooo sad cried and had wished death on her! My other 2 were twins and I could just never get close to them like I was with Joe Bob. He was bald with dimples and had no shirt wearing light green overalls. His head had some white "scratches" from some of the color that came off. I lost him in a fishing store in a mall in TX. Maybe someone will read that and know where he is..LOL
I hope you have a great Mother's Day and thank you for entering my giveaway. Good luck!
