Recall Info

Oh goodness - so many recalls.  Personally, I will not be purchasing McNeil Labs products (Tylenol/Zyrtec/Motrin, etc) for quite awhile.  2 recalls in just a few months plus a scathing report from the FDA - um... no thanks.  I'll stick to generics that are NOT produced at those labs (production info is listed on the box).

Here is a site to look up your specific crib to see if it has been recalled.  If your crib is a drop-side crib or if it has bars/slats under the mattress, make sure you check the list as MANY have been recalled.

Here is the text from an email about the most recent recall - I found it quite helpful!

We are writing to let you know that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is announcing the recall of all Simplicity full-size cribs with tubular metal mattress-support frames, due to a potential product defect.

This recall includes fixed-side and drop-side cribs. These cribs pose a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment, strangulation, suffocation and fall hazards to infants and toddlers.

If you believe you are affected by this recall, you should stop using the crib immediately and find an alternative, safe sleeping environment for your baby. Do not attempt to fix these cribs.

Please contact the store where the crib was purchased to receive a refund, replacement crib or store credit. Simplicity and its successor, SFCA Inc., are no longer in business.
