Happy Blogaversary!

One year ago today, I made the leap and started blogging on Rediscovering Domesticity.  Here is the text from my very first post:

I have spent the past 9 years teaching school. Last year was my first year as a stay at home wife and mother. I floundered in my role through the year. I have been unorganized. I have been lazy. I have not reflected much of the Proverbs 31 woman at all. Yes, we did move across the country when I was 7 months pregnant. Yes, I did have my first baby. Yes, I did struggle with postpartum depression and anxiety. Yes, I am sleep deprived. Yes, I have been making excuses all year. No, I do not want to continue!

I have had grand visions of my perfectly organized home where Hubby always has clean underwear and a packed lunch to take to work. Where the dishes are done at least every other day and the dust bunnies cower in fear. Where joy and peace reign and love abounds. Where I am a content helper suitable for my husband.

I don't know a lot about becoming the woman I want to be. I do know I need the Lord's strength and guidance. I know I need the knowledge of friends more gifted in this area. Join me in my journey to grow and rediscover domesticity.

 Wow - I have come a long way - mainly healing from the depression/anxiety and growing as a mom, however, I have SO FAR to GO!
