Sanctuary Sunday: Take My Life

In the busyness of every day, it is easy to get caught up and forget to spend time with God.  I am guilty.  It's the tyranny of the urgent - or the "what-I-perceive-to-be-urgent."  This song has always been a reminder to me to continually surrender my life.  To surrender my will.  To surrender my plans.

When I surrender, I see how His plans for my life and even just for my day are so much better than what I could have planned.  Does God allow hardship into my life?  Certainly.  We are not assured an easy and problem free life just because we follow Christ.  The hard times are good for me - good for my heart, good for my faith.  The good times are also good for me.

Take time and just BE with Christ today.  Don't bring a list for Him.  Don't bring an agenda. Just BE.  Listen. Give Him your heart anew.  Allow Him to restore your spirit and strength.  Allow Him to lay His plans before you.

Take my life and let it be consecrated Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for thee.

Take my voice and let me sing always, only for my king.
Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from thee.
Take my silver and my gold not a might would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use every power as you choose.

::Chorus::
Here am I, all of me.
Take my life, it's all for thee.

Take my will and make it Thine it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord I pour at your feet its treasure store
Take myself and I will be ever, only all for thee,
Take myself and I will be ever, only all for thee.

Here am I, All of me.
Take my life, It's all for thee.
x3

(Take my life, Lord take my life. take all of me)

Here am I, All of me.
Take my life, It's all for thee.

Sunday Sanctuary: We Are Blessed

How often do you count your blessings?  I certainly don't count mine often enough.  I came across a very challenging post this week.  I just needed to share it with you.

Click over to Amy's Finer Things to see why others want what you have.

While you are at it, click over to We Are THAT Family to read all about Kristen's trip to Africa with Compassion International.  Have a box of Kleenex handy - it's powerful stuff.

Take a few moments and count your blessings.  Thank the Lord for all you have (and even for all your trials).

How He Loves - John Mark McMillan -
performed by David Crowder Band

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

Yeah, He loves us,
Oh! how He loves us,
Oh! how He loves us,
Oh! how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
And Heaven meets earth like an unforseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…
