Saturday Throwback

I thought it would be fun to have some lighter content on the weekends.  I was paging through old pictures and  realized this could be a good way to get to know you, my readers, better!  The next few weeks I will be experimenting with creating a link-up for other blogs to link to this one with similar content.  The "rules:"  Simply post a picture from the past (it's really fun if you choose one totally randomly) and tell a story that relates to the picture.  Nothing offensive, please.

If Mr. Linky is working, add your post (a link to the direct post, not the main page of your blog) through that.  Otherwise, add a comment with said link.  Stop by and see the other posts and leave them comment love!

Ahh....  The first day of first grade.  I am at the bus stop across the street with my Grandma, my little brother, my friend, Robbie, and Robbie's dad, Bob.  Well, I *think* this is first grade!  I am assuming that my mom is taking the picture.

I remember first grade.  I had Mrs. George as a teacher.  She had the patience of a saint.  She was so patient, especially with one boy in class, Teddy.  Teddy would run all the time.  He would run around the room during class time flailing his arms and shouting, "Teddy and the fart machine!" while making sound effects.  Teddy would pee on the walls in the classroom bathroom.  Teddy would poo on the floor of the classroom bathroom.  Mrs. George never yelled.  She still showed us all a lot of love and kindness.  She is the one who noticed that I had trouble seeing and helped me get my first pair of glasses.

What a fun year!

What about you?  Share a picture and a story!

What a great idea! Too bad my old photos are packed up in the basement :( I love your story of Teddy. Your teacher sounds like a saint!!!

Haha! We're just starting to unpack pictures - we scanned in a bunch to surprise my dad for his 60th birthday. And yes, Mrs. George WAS a saint!
