Don't Become Weary

Galatians 6:9 reminds us:

So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up.

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

Hebrews 12:3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,

The barrage of images of the devastation in Haiti is heartbreaking.  I simply cannot watch.  I cannot bear the images of the hurting children nor can I bear hearing the details of amputations on the street.

Amazingly, survivors are still being found.  Tragically, many who survived the earthquake are now succumbing to illness and infection.  Even basic anti-bacterial ointment is in short supply.  I am overwhelmed with the needs there.

What can we do?  We can not grow weary and we can continue to pray.  We can continue to give.  If you cannot give monetarily, give your time locally - free up others to give in ways they are gifted.

One need that will be huge in the coming months - wheelchairs.  So many people have lost limbs in this disaster.  They will need ways to get around.   Prayerfully consider giving to the Free Wheelchair Mission.  They are already on the ground and assembling wheelchairs to give to those in need.  Many more chairs are needed.  Click here to learn about the Free Wheelchair Mission.  Click here to donate wheelchairs.
