Ahhh.... what a great week. Since our big summer event was having baby #2, we opted to not do a big vacation this year. Instead, we did a staycation with family. We have had a blast! As always, it was a whirlwind. It wouldn't be a family vacation if it wasn't! Here's the rundown:

Saturday:
Brother and ~~Girlfriend~~ FIANCEE came in to town for lunch. We hadn't met Girlfriend before. LOVE HER! They hadn't met Baby yet either. We had lunch and played then packed up to drive to my parents' house about an hour away. Got in, unpacked, rested for 5.8 seconds, loaded into the cars for a birthday dinner (brother turned 30) at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Ate more than we should have. Enjoyed the mariachi music for the birthday song. Enjoyed watching Brother blush! Went home (to parents') to put our boys to bed. Watched a movie. Went to bed way too late.

Sunday:
Slept in just a bit. Started prepping for a big picnic/open house. Spent afternoon and evening with a house full of family and friends having an indoor cookout (food cooked out, we hide in the a/c) since it was so. incredibly. hot.

Monday:
Spent the morning at the zoo and aquarium. It was in the mid-90's and humid the whole time. Girlfriend is a giraffe-keeper at her local zoo so she was kind enough to talk to our local zoo and get us "backstage" with the giraffes! How cool is that?!?! We all got to feed him.

We then took the incline to the top of the mountain to overlook the city.

We had planned a yummy dinner but there is no way the boys would hold out that long. We headed home for nap time then went out to dinner once the boys awoke. Hubby and I went browsing for a "new" car after that.

Tuesday:
We slept in a little then let the boys get a super nap before going to an amusement park. Parks are much different with little ones in tow! We stayed and played until nearly 8pm.

Wednesday:
The men headed out for an early game of golf. When they returned, the gals left for some pampering at the salon. Mom showed off the boys while Girlfriend got a mani and pedi an I got my hair cut.
