When Life Seems too Hard

God is God in the good times AND in the bad.  As Christians, we are never promised an easy life, a comfortable life, a life without pain and suffering.  Many people look to Jesus as the gift-giver.  Yes, He showers us with gifts and blessings, however, not all gifts and blessings SEEM to be good. 

As a child, I remember being disciplined.  I didn't like discipline.  I would rather just do what I want and do it my way because, you know, I know it all!  Thankfully, my parents were wise and realized that I did NOT know it all and that I needed discipline and guidance.

God is the same way.  He loves us and wants what is best for us even if it doesn't seem like it at the time.

I encourage you to read this story.  It contains the amazing account of a family who has been through struggles much like Job.  Hubby and I knew them years ago, when Steve was one of our pastors (the pastor who married us, actually), and when Ian was just a child.  We have not had the privilege of meeting Larissa yet.
