Pretty Dave Ramsey Envelopes

I am a huge Dave Ramsey fan.  Hubby and I took his Financial Peace University (FPU) class a few years back.  It really helped us get on the same page with finances and has helped us not fight about money nearly as much as we did.  I love this class that I help out with childcare for classes at our church!

One major aspect of Dave's financial teaching is moving away from credit cards and using cash.  Studies show that we spend more when using plastic.  There is just something about seeing the green in our wallets.  Also, using cash makes it very easy to realize when we need to stop spending.  When the money is gone, we spend no more!  This keeps us from spending more than we make and helps us win financially.

Well, I haven't done a whole lot with cash lately, however, I am headed back that direction.  As part of the resource pack for the FPU class, we received a pack of envelopes to get us started.  These were nicely bound, just the right size for cash and to fit in the purse, with a change purse included and spaces on each envelope to track spending.  They are nice.  They just aren't PRETTY.  I like pretty!

In my blog searches, I happened upon  a tutorial for PRETTY Dave Ramsey envelopes!  I am heading out today to find some sales on pretty paper so I can make some for myself!  I'd love to see pictures of yours if you decide to make some!

Going through Dave's book made a big impact on our finances too. We paid off our vehicles early and now are working to get our student loans paid of several years early as well!

Do you have a Hobby Lobby or Joanne's nearby? They always seem to be doing 5 for a $1 or 6 for a $1 sales on 12x12 scrapbook paper. They have some beautiful papers too!
