Crazy Life - The Saga Continues

So, yesterday I posted about our crazy vacation but didn't quite finish the story.  You can read all the details here.  A quick recap:
  • cross country flights with a pregnant momma and a toddler (thankfully with Hubby's help)
  • man collapses on plane ride home - his survival was touch and go for a bit but he seemed to be doing much better by landing
  • icy roads force us to park blocks away and drag luggage up our big hill
  • come home to no water for 24 hours
Now, for the conclusion of our story!

Since we were unable to thaw the exterior pipes the night of our return, we just broke into my stockpile of jugs of water to make it through morning.  It is amazing how much we rely on water and how much we take it for granted!  The next morning, we called the not-so-helpful water company.  After several phone calls, we were assured the service department would check it out, so we headed to breakfast (and working toilets) at Perkins then to my big anatomy ultrasound.

I just love ultrasounds!  The technology is amazing!  We are 100% having another little boy!  He looks so similar yet so different from Little Man.  Amazing.

Upon our return home, Hubby learned that the service department will only come when we are home.  Thankfully, they arrived within the hour.  They discovered that the cap to our water meter had been bumped which allowed the actual meter to freeze.  We were both amazed at their method of thawing.

To try to thaw the meter, the service men attached a hose to their truck's exhaust pipe and fed that to the meter which was then covered in insulation.  One guy sat in the truck and revved the engine.  After about 30 minutes, they realized that at 20 degrees, it was just too cold.  Thankfully, they were able to just replace the meter itself.

Water!  Woohoo!

This is where our saga ends.  It is by no means the end of our craziness.  In fact, Little Man makes sure that the craziness continues daily.  His new favorite game?  Climbing on his ride on toy to stand up and reach things he shouldn't (or to hammer things he shouldn't).  Where will we find the energy for TWO little boys?!?!?!
