Confession Wall

Every so often, when I have time {insert guffaw here}, I read through posts on my birth board on babycenter.com.  About every other month or so, a post pops up for moms to 'fess up about their imperfections.  I love these posts because they bring me back to reality.  They help me see that moms aren't perfect - even the moms who seem to be able to do it all.

Amy at Raising Arrows had a fantastic post about the myth of having it all together.  She talks about how we might elevate godly women in our lives to "perfection" status and warns us of the inherent problem with this elevation.  My favorite part of the post, however, is her confessions.  It is important for us to share our faults so we can be transparent and grow in godliness.

I'll admit - I get intimidated with blogging.  I read a lot of blogs.  These blogs are written by very creative and gifted men and women.  I am learning a lot - mostly I am learning that I don't know much!  I know that God put this blog in my heart.  I know that He is helping me write each post (well, most - the posts that I try to write on my own tend to be quite evident) for His glory.

Now for some other confessions that should help me grow in humility and help you feel great!
  • I still have many boxes that are not unpacked from our move 13 months ago.  Most are photos.
  • I am really lazy in the mornings.  I let Baby nap on me because I get all comfy and warm in the recliner with my laptop and just enjoy writing and snuggling.
  • I eat WAY too many cookies each day.
  • I don't shower every day.
  • I am not diligent with my quiet times and definitely don't read the Word as much as I should.
  • I still harbor bitterness in my heart towards past employers.
  • I don't remember the last time I dusted.
  • When Hubby has run out of undershirts due to my poor planning with laundry, I have thrown them in the dryer with a softener sheet to help them smell fresh.  I haven't told him I've done this.
  • I cleaned my windows for the first time in a year this week.  We could no longer see out of them thanks to dog nose prints and baby tongue prints.
What do you have to confess?  Please comment with things you confess and areas where you are trying to grow!
